John started within the racing industry in 1983 straight from school thus gaining invaluable experience. His progression led to Head Person for Karl Burke among other trainers such as Peter Harris John White and Lord Tyrone.
John learnt different methods of training and gained more experience during a 6 month spell in Australia track work riding for Gai Waterhouse and Bart Cummings.
John also rode winners as an amateur for two seasons. “I felt I needed to race ride before training so that I could understand what a horse needs to be able to win”
From his Grove Farm premises John has trained course record holders from 5 furlong sprinters to 3 mile chasers. “I am proud of our lovely premises and excellent facilities with a routine that works as our results show." We have horses all of different abilities which you will see when you explore our website. I hope you like it!”
